About Dr. Thrasher

I earned a B.A. in History from the University of Georgia, M.Ed. in Special Education from Georgia State University, Ed.S. in Instructional Supervision from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I had an extensive career in K-12 education and was named Teacher of the Year in the southeast in 1984. I also had twenty years of public school administrative experience as a principal, district special education director and district director of professional learning. My areas of interest include instructional improvement, on-line learning, women in leadership and qualitative research methods. I was a full-time Assistant Professor at Mercer University in the Tift College of Education before retiring to care for my mother and my adult, disabled daughter in Athens, Georgia. I continue to teach on-line and consult for school systems in the southeastern United States.
